Noteworthy example of Yamatoku (which translates as Mountain Virtue)
Porcelain produced in Saga Prefecture with earliest impressed mark and
hand-painted artist marking. Meiji Period circa 1880-1890. Free of
chips, cracks or repairs. Fantastic, entirely hand-painted depiction of
Japanese goddess on flying phoenix. Best Yamatoku piece we've ever
offered.
Dimensions: 10 7/8" diameter.
Period of Production: Meiji 1868-1912.
