Vintage Medieval English Herald & Swords Wall Plaque
Great condition--no chips, cracks or repairs--on this vintage wall plaque of
an English herald depicting three towers below a crown and flanked by different
floral sprigs with a banner at the bottom.
This metal plaque is mounted on mustard yellow velvet (has darkened with age)
with a burgundy at the back. The two swords (each measures 11" long) have fancy
handles with a portrait of a semi-nude woman and are marked ODDEP (Dep most
likely stands for Depose, meaning the piece was trademarked in Europe at some
time).
In total, the piece measures 11" wide by 14 1/8" tall. Original hanger is
present at the top back. An exceptional and unusual example of decor.
